How does ministry in the marketplace work?
We purchase and renovate buildings in our small town to meet needs, provide employment, and create spaces where relationships can grow. With the help of patrons, friends, family and short-term mission teams we have been able to turn an empty lot into a pocket park, renovate and re-open a Pizza King, renovate and re-open a coin laundry, renovate the Knights of Pythias Hall into two loft apartments and turn the Masonic Lodge into an antique mall. Coming soon is Remnants Cafe and a movie 'theater'/worship/small group space, The Gladiator (diner), Scoops (ice cream shop), a library, offices and event spaces.

Brad & Kathryn Eads

After participating in a National Community Church (NCC) small group on finding their purpose, Brad and Kathryn felt called to return to the county of their heritage, reach out to the rural community, and strengthen the local churches.
They do this through ministry in the marketplace, a concept they learned about in VA and on mission trips to Berlin and the LA Dream Center. With 70% of the local population either de-churched or unchurched, they feel blessed and challenged every day for the Kingdom.

During the day, Brad and Kathryn are both federal contractors. Living on Breeze Hill with their dogs, Goodness and Mercy and cats, Jack and Joe, they are in awe of God’s faithfulness and provision and excited about what God has for them in the coming years.
